ABOUT ART BY SACHEEN

I am drawn to color and texture, and create abstract artwork, functional art, home decor, and homewares that speak to me.  I feel that art is a success when it catches your eye, steals the moment, and makes you feel something. 

Creating is my happy place.  It is a release.  I thrive on the interplay of colors, textures, shapes, and dimension.  I relish the juicy details that draw you deep into the minutia of a piece.  Art should be captivating!

My hope is that you will find a piece of my abstract art that uniquely speaks to you, brightens your space, and forever brings you joy!

Hi!  I'm Sacheen, the artist behind Art by Sacheen.

As the eldest of four daughters, I grew up in the suburbs of Los Angeles, California. Ever since I can remember, I've been fascinated with arts and crafts, and have dabbled in everything from oil painting to woodworking, pottery, stained glass, beading, metalwork, jewelry, crocheting, knitting, and even piano. When I wasn’t creating, I was taking care of my three younger sisters, learning ballet, gymnastics, or karate, and studying (I was always a good student!). On the weekends, I drove tractors around my parent’s vineyards in Paso Robles, and during the summers, I just loved to be out in the sun or on the water.

After graduating from high school with honors, I studied Business and Mass Communications at the University of California, Berkeley. Since then, I've worked in the booming tech, medical device, and healthcare industries, often performing rigorous research and data analysis. Even though I enjoyed that work, my most happy and carefree moments were when I was working with my hands creating art.

That's why I now focus on what feeds my soul - creating abstract art and artful home accents!  I am mostly self-taught, and have been making art since grade school.  I design and handcraft every piece with care and precision. No detail is overlooked. I want my customers to enjoy my art for a lifetime.

I also care deeply for our one and only planet, and seek out recycled, environmentally-kind, and animal-friendly materials as much as possible.
